About Our Wreaths

We are David Farris and Nancy Seaman, husband and wife, makers of Christmas wreaths. Our goal is to make completely fresh wreaths, to decorate those wreaths with only natural materials, and to do the work ourselves. The only "artificial" element of our wreath is the bow. But even here one of us cuts the waterproof ribbon and the other makes the bows. The "all-natural" option uses additional greens instead of a bow. We begin bow-making in September.

Come October, we make trips to central Oregon to gather pine cones and juniper. Nearer home, we collect cedar, spruce cones, and chestnuts. To make the cones and nuts nestle naturally into the greens, we drill and glue wires into them.

The wreaths themselves are made of noble fir. We cut no greens until November. Focusing on making wreaths from completely fresh greens, we cut several times per week until Christmas. We cut all greens ourselves, make the wreaths ourselves, decorate them ourselves, sell them ourselves, box and ship them as mailorders ourselves. Some people suggest that we should expand, hire employees, make more wreaths, cut greens earlier, use artificial berries and phony decorations. But when your Marketing Department consists of an Australian Shepherd, Rye, and a Papillon, Gunther, and a tuxedo cat, Odo, is your Sales Rep, it seems appropriate to do things the way you've always chosen to do them, personally and in a "limited edition" sort of way.

Thank you for reading.
